Convert PNG to WebP

WebP supports transparency like PNG but uses far more efficient compression. Photos saved as PNG often become 70–80% smaller, and logos, icons and UI graphics typically 25–50% smaller.

Smaller images load faster, which improves Core Web Vitals and search rankings, and reduces bandwidth costs for you and your visitors.

When you convert a folder, subfolders and file names are kept – only the extension changes from .png to .webp. Download everything as a ZIP, or, in Chrome and Edge, save straight into a new subfolder on your disk.

Because only the extension changes, updating image references is usually a find-and-replace from .png to .webp. For very old browsers you can serve WebP inside a picture element with the PNG as a fallback.

At the default 82% quality, photographic PNGs shrink the most with no visible change. Flat graphics such as logos, icons and diagrams also convert well, but hard edges and small text benefit from 90% quality to stay perfectly crisp.

Not sure which applies? Convert once with the default, open a result in the comparison view and zoom in on edges and text. Apply again with a higher quality if anything looks soft.
